Dear friends,
For the last couple of months, we have been working so hard at Atlas on a campaign that can start to change the world. It’s big. It’s ambitious. It’s radical. Are you ready?! I’m not, but I may never be, so here it comes.
I am incredibly excited to announce Atlas' first political campaign. We are running to become United Nations Secretary-General to ensure humanity’s survival. I will be the candidate for the 2026 selection process.

To be honest, I never thought I would write such an email. I never thought I would do such a campaign. But our survival is at risk. Climate change, artificial intelligence, wars, dictatorship, pandemics, and poverty all have the potential to destroy humanity unless they are tackled fast.

And no one adequately deals with those issues, with no sign that this is about to change. National leaders are more preoccupied with staying in power and prioritising their interests, and no global institution is taking the leadership. This scares me deeply. But more than this, it angers the hell out of me.
That’s why I decided to head Atlas’ campaign to challenge the selection process of the United Nations Secretary-General. I have, of course, a long road ahead of me. The makeup of this organisation means that at the end of the day, five countries (the US, the UK, France, China & Russia) make key decisions and have a veto right. That alone means that someone pushing for radical change, not the status quo, is unlikely to please them. But that’s exactly the point. That’s why we must act.
Together, by uniting in our millions, we can choose the next UN leader and also change the system itself, leaving it no choice but to be reformed.
Together, we can tackle the very threats that risk our survival. Our political programme can become a reality by building a mass movement behind it worldwide.
Together, we can start a political revolution. This isn’t about me. It’s really not. I’m just the tip of this movement for survival that will make waves by gaining power in cities, countries, and regions worldwide.
I hope you’ll join us in making this possible. But not just me: I am not alone. Atlas’ volunteers have worked tirelessly over the last few months to prepare our programme, communication, events, and more to make this campaign possible.
