Newsletter - June 3rd, 2022

The world is scary today. Humanity faces an environmental crisis; authoritarians often have the upper hand, and inequalities are soaring. Traditional political agendas seem ineffective as - even in the rare cases when politicians are competent and ready to do the right thing - issues are beyond national governments' control.

How can a prime minister stop the climate crisis on their own? How can parliaments legislate to stop exploding energy costs when they are consequences of global dynamics? How can NATO save 🇺🇦 Ukraine when its mandate is inward-looking, and its structure outdated?

We have preached for two years about the need to unite people across the world, build a progressive front across the globe, and finally have a chance to improve our future. COVID-19 limited the way Atlas could operate - starting this July, the winds will change.

On July 16-17th, during the upcoming General Assembly, Atlas will become an international, progressive political party. Anchoring our values at the local level across the planet, we will start building power from wards, neighborhoods, and city councils 🏫 all the way up to the United Nations 🇺🇳 if this is what it takes to give a fighting chance to humanity. By connecting communities and building a political network that does not stop at borders and does not care about how one sounds or looks, we believe we can change this planet forever.

Do you want to be part of this project? Do you want to tell your children many years from now that you were there, that we tried, and that we succeeded?

📣 ATLAS GENERAL ASSEMBLY: THE DETAILS
Atlas will host its founding General Assembly on the 16-17th of July in Geneva (Switzerland) and Online. We are glad to communicate that we now have:

📌 A confirmed location for the physical meeting: the Geneva Impact Hub, a fantastic venue that shares our founding values;

🎤 Several speakers confirmed, such as the world-renowned youth climate activist Licypriya Kangujam from India and the Secretary-General of the Community of Democracies, Thomas Garrett

📋 A preliminary program for the weekend

Cool, right? However, to make all of this possible, we need your support. To offset the event's cost, we will be asking those joining us in person in Geneva to contribute with a small donation and anyone else - joining online or just supportive of our mission - to contribute if they can! So please, whether you'll join us or not, click below and help us make the magic happen :)

As you can see, many exciting things are coming Atlas' way. 2022 will be our year!

Atlassians, assemble!

Best,

Andrea & Colombe
