It’s been a while since our last newsletter, so let us quickly recap where we are, what we do, and the latest things we pulled out of our Atlas hat. As usual, please reply to this email with any questions or click here to join our team!
A QUICK RECAP: WHO ARE WE AND WHAT WE DO?
Atlas is the global political movement protecting the fundamental dignity of every person, regardless of who they are or where they live.
We are running for office at all levels of government, in all democratic countries and even at the United Nations, to ensure that we gather the power to change the lives of millions, as soon as humanly possible.
With over 25,000 supporters in more than 134 countries, Atlas is not just a movement; it's a revolution, a rallying cry uniting people across continents, from Australia to Kenya, from Italy to Brazil, in a shared mission to safeguard our dignity.

OUR MAIN WORKSTREAMS TODAY
United Nations Secretary-General Campaign
We are running to become United Nations Secretary-General to ensure humanity’s survival. Colombe Cahen-Salvador, Atlas’ co-founder, is our candidate for the 2026 selection process.
Let’s be clear: our survival is at risk. Climate change, artificial intelligence, wars, dictatorship, pandemics, and poverty all have the potential to destroy humanity unless they are tackled fast.
Those threats are global, and the United Nations cannot deal with them due to its undemocratic and outdated setup. Even its leader, the Secretary-General, is chosen in an opaque process by countries seeking to uphold the status quo. But we must have a UN with the necessary competencies, legitimacy, and leadership to ensure our survival.
And for this, we need you. Endorse our campaign. Challenge this broken system, put survival threats on top of the political agenda, and ignite the fire of a revolution that will start at the UN but won’t stop there. This is just the beginning.

Freedom Emergency Declaration
Israel has murdered close to 50,000 Palestinians and is invading other countries. Russia continues its invasion & war on Ukraine. In Sudan, millions endure violence, displacement, rape, and famine at the hands of armed forces.
Crimes against humanity are not inevitable, they are caused by our governments' failure to take concrete measures to stop them. But we have the power. Send an email to the UN General Assembly President: the UN must adopt a Freedom Emergency Declaration and act systematically to stop massacres!
If adopted, this Declaration will help initiate immediate targeted actions- such as arms embargoes and targeted sanctions - against those committing or supporting grave crimes such as genocide, apartheid, crimes against humanity, war crimes, and aggression.
Together, we can end of the UN's complicit with war criminals, and cut off lifelines to oppressors, making solidarity a tool for real change across borders!
Take a minute to send an email to the UNGA president here, and share this message on social media:
I stand with freedom struggles. So I acted & just asked the UN to act for every one of them, from Palestine to Ukraine. Will you? #Unite4Survival. https://www.atlasmovement.org/freedomemergency
National Work
Besides our global campaign, we are naturally getting prepared to run for elections worldwide. Italy is currently our most advanced country team, evaluating participating in regional elections already this Fall. 9 days ago the team held a National Summit in Milan that coalesced energies and volunteers ahead of this new big target. If you are interested in their work, you can follow the Italian Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/atlas_italia/

LATEST NEWS
Freedom Marathon
On March 15, 2025, Atlas, in collaboration with the Global Democracy Coalition (GDC), hosted the Freedom Marathon | GDC Europe Forum 2025 in Milan, Italy. This one-day international gathering brought together citizens, activists, policymakers, and experts to explore the formation of a values-based global pro-freedom coalition. The event addressed the pressing need for democracies worldwide to support freedom struggles amidst rising authoritarianism and the polarization of democratic values by exploring the idea of establishing a global coalition for freedom.
A projection to call out Europe’s Hypocrisy
While European leaders condemn Russia’s invasion and impose sanctions, they have simultaneously increased LNG imports from Russia, sending billions of euros to Moscow. In 2024 alone, the EU imported EUR 7.32 billion worth of Russian LNG, money that helps fund missiles, bombings, and civilian attacks in Ukraine. Such a strident contradiction, in the context of the effort to make Europe more united it’s a stain on the European project.

Our Stance on Greenland
Greenland held elections on Tuesday March 11th in the wake of United States President Donald Trump repeatedly making remarks about taking control over the island, which is governed nationally by Denmark. While all the major parties support independence, they differ over the rate of separation and the measures to be taken to achieve it. The gradualist Demokraatit party won the most seats, with just under thirty percent of the vote, according to Reuters. This would suggest Greenland will continue offering pushback against Trump’s wishes about annexation, and may even herald moving closer to Copenhagen, rather than the opposite
