2nd UPDATE | Help us stop Russia from leading the UN Security Council 🇷🇺❌🇺🇳

Two days ago, Russia assumed the Presidency of the United Nations Security Council. It's a shameful moment for humanity, and the best we can do now it's to continue our campaign to push member states to boycott the UN Security Council during Russia’s presidency of the body. But we have good news:

  • We are stepping up our game: we have launched a tool that allows anyone to email-blast the UN ambassadors, as they are not taking action.
  • This Saturday, we also held the first protest in London, here you can read a blog post about it! It was a great success and was shortly followed by a march in New York City! We will continue pushing for international demonstrations.
  • On the first of April, we also sent this official letter with 16 pages of signatures to the ambassadors of member states of the UN Security Council.

  • We have partnered with great Ukrainian NGOs, as shown on the campaign page (if you know of others who might be interested, please reach out!)

--- PREVIOUS UPDATE ---

It’s been less than 48 hours since we called on member states to boycott the UN Security Council during Russia’s presidency of the body. We know, it’s insane that we even have to say it!
However, we have some encouraging news, and it’s mainly thanks to all of those who decided not to be bystanders anymore. So thank you, and here it goes:

  • We can confirm that the first official protest will take place in London this Saturday at 4pm in front of 10 Downing Street, co-hosted by Support Ukraine London.
  • The Russian Mission to the UN described our campaign as “complete nonsense”, and we felt compelled to send back a strong signal.

--- LAUNCH EMAIL ---

On April 1st, Russia will assume the Presidency of the Security Council, the most powerful body of the United Nations. This is an affront to justice and to the 18 million people severely affected by Putin's evil invasion of Ukraine. We must act.

Join us in getting countries to boycott the body & paralyze Russia’s month-long presidency. How? We are pressuring democracy-loving countries not to show up: if 7 out of 15 Security Council member states join the boycott, Russia won’t be able to get anything passed.

Add your name to this petition, share it with friends, and we will share the complete list of supporters with the Ambassadors of the United Nations with our demand every day throughout April. Be on the right side of history. Join #UNBoycottRussia.

And if you can, go the extra mile by sharing it with friends, family & the internet - find a template social media action below.

We hope you’ll stand with Ukraine.
