Green December - recap week 4

Green December is almost over! Let's give it a last push this week and make this month a beautiful one for the climate!

Throughout Green December we have seen thousands of participants taking actions from over 40 countries, our co-founder Andrea jumping in the freezing lake of Hyde Park in London and our member Annita doing the same in Italy to push the United Nations to act, and finally, the Independent publishing an article co-authored by our co-founders Colombe and Andrea! This week, participants took many impactful actions that involved running or walking 4.8KM to raise awareness on our emissions, getting more friends and family to act for the climate, and making pledges for the year to come!

Are you ready for …  THE FINAL WEEK? Find all the details below

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 27TH: NAME AND SHAME THOSE NOT ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY

We all have a duty to make the environment a better place now and for the future. However,  there are still many businesses, brands and sectors that are lacking commitment towards a better and greener future.

Today, name and shame those that are not environmentally friendly, and share information as to why they are not, so we can all learn from each other and be more knowledgeable when picking out those brands and businesses.

MONDAY, DECEMBER 28TH: IT’S MEATLESS MONDAY

Today is our final Meatless Monday! Meat consumption has a very negative impact on the planet. Stopping it, or even reducing it, can really change this. On this Monday, have meatless meals and share your pictures, videos or recipes of these with us!

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 29TH: COMMUTE LIKE YOU LOVE THE PLANET!

Transport pollution is having a huge impact on our environment, affecting everything from the size of the hole in the ozone layer to the health and wellbeing of the general public.

Today, find other ways to go around your city and support the planet! We are partnering up with TIER for this action and we have a promo code for the first thousand people!

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 30TH: GET READY FOR NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION AND LEARN SOMETHING ABOUT THE CLIMATE

2021 is really around the corner now! Let's pause and reflect on this year and the planet: 2020 is set to be the warmest year on record and the arctic sea ice extent was also at record low levels for much of the summer.

But, let's get ready to make 2021 a better year for the planet. Today, learn something new about climate and share it with us on social media: it could be a new book you read, a podcast you listened to, a fact that you did not know! Remember to tag NOW! and ask your friends to join you.

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 31ST: TELL US YOUR 5 SUSTAINABLE RESOLUTIONS FOR 2021

We made it through 2020! Can you believe it? And today is the last day of #GreenDecember! You have taken 31 individual actions to counter the climate crisis: thank you!

Today, let's prepare ourselves for the New Year by sharing with one another your 5 sustainable resolutions for 2021. What will you do for the climate? #Resolutions4Revolution

Remember: together, united, we cannot be defeated! Let’s all work together and make the end of Green December an amazing time for everyone!

All the best,

Laura, for NOW!
