On one side democratic standards seem to be almost back in Washington, on the other one Russia and Myanmar are spiraling further down once more in the shadows of authoritarianism. On the COVID-19 front, vaccines are starting to show their positive impact in places like the UK, but low and middle-income countries are being left behind. As a global movement, we are working tirelessly on both fronts, and beyond - check out our latest updates in this newsletter!

WE ARE ABOUT THE STEP-UP OUR FIGHT FOR FREEDOM - WILL YOU HELP?
Given the continuous crackdowns on freedom we are witnessing across the planet, it’s clear that the upcoming G7 is not just a great chance to bring democracies together, but it could also bring a rare hope to those suffering under oppression. For Joshua Wong and Alexey Navalny, as well as for the thousands of other activists jailed and tortured all over the planet, time is running out.
With this in mind, in a month's time, we are launching a fundraising effort to expand our capacity to lobby, organize protests, and ensure that government officials will not be able to ignore our scream for freedom. Every single penny raised will be directed to this effort. We will obviously let you know when this project is launched. Last but not least, please watch this powerful event during which Colombe presented our vision for a League of Democracies that would bring forward a hopeful vision of a more democratic world. She debated with the former Prime Minister of Denmark, the UK Sherpa to the G7, and the Director of the Penn Biden Institute. She really did a great job in shifting the conversation from the idea of a western focused democratic alliance to a truly inclusive one - it’s quite something to see. Enjoy!
COVID-19 DOES NOT STOP AT BORDERS, NEITHER SHOULD VACCINES!
As you probably remember, a few days back we launched an email action to push a major COVID-19 manufacturer - Pfizer - to share its vaccine with low and middle-income countries, so that we may save lives, NOW!. As things stand, the world population won’t be vaccinated before 2023 or 2024: this is not acceptable.
Thanks to the effort of people across the world, hundreds of emails have already reached the office of the CEO of Pfizer, and we will soon step up our efforts with actions in front of Pfizer offices, and more. In the meantime, we started getting some coverage from all across the world. Check out this interview we did with Brut America!

The blossoming of local teams, from Cuenca in Ecuador to Delhi in India, makes us extremely proud and, at the same time, eager to do even more.
