On December 1st, 2020 NOW! launched Green December: a month of coordinated individual actions to counter the climate change and spark some climate hope.
Hundreds of activists have already signed up, ahead of the launch of Green December, and they are expected to take the first action of the month in front of their Parliaments and other government buildings in tens of cities, from Tulsa to Taipei, from Nairobi to London. People from all over the world are expected to take action to ensure that December is a positive month for the climate, after a year in which global leaders have done very little to solve the climate crisis.
Dozens of NOW! volunteers have created different teams ahead of the launch of Green December to work together on the thirty-one actions of the month. Volunteers from all over the world have ensured that the Green December actions could be taken from all over the world and that they could tackle different aspects of the climate crisis: from food consumption and waste to the method of transportation we use. Through their work, the volunteers have created partnerships with tens of influencers who have agreed to participate and promote the actions throughout December. Influencers who are supporting the campaign include: Azza Slimene, Licypriya Kangujam, and Jerome Foster II.

Green December is part of our Global Climate Emergency campaign. As we are taking individual actions across the world, we are showing world leaders that if people can unite, they have no excuse for not doing the same and push forward for the UN to declare a global climate emergency. This can save our planet!
