Build a Global Democracy

8 billion people inhabit our planet. As obvious as this may sound, it’s clear that we are One: we share so many characteristics and our destiny is intertwined. Yet, we have so far failed to create a global governance system to administer our planet, tame global challenges, and nurture shared opportunities.

That’s why we are working to design, build, and launch such a Democratic System of Global Governance. One that is👏  people-led 👏 transnational, in which humans 👏  unite beyond national borders!

To do so, we are launching a multi-year project in three phases:

2023 |Grassroots consultations for global democracy

From January to July 2023, we are running consultations online and in person across the globe 🌏  to crowdsource with YOU:

  1. what are the core issues with today’s global governance?
  2. what are the solutions & how to ensure maximum democracy?
  3. what will this system look like?

You can also ✊ attend a physical event or, even better, organize one to create bridges with others willing to build a more united world.

Once the global grassroots consultation is finished & a vision has been adopted, we will use the selection of the UN Secretary-General  (in 2025) as a way to get the attention and discussion needed around global governance, to get some countries to endorse our project (will be useful later) and to both push the UN itself to do better while preparing the next phase of the process if/when our candidate is unsuccessful.

For this, we will run a global primary to have a candidate push forward this vision in the undemocratic selection process of the UN SG. (read our past work on this here).

As we forecast that the UN campaign will not spark real change within the UN due to its current undemocratic makeup, the project will then use the momentum of the campaign to create said democratic people's-led transnational governance system. We will do so from the ground up, registering citizens, electing bodies, and starting to operate.

After the launch, operations will have to be maintained and advanced for several years to anchor the new organization into the mind of the people of this planet and grow it exponentially. Ways to admit/engage with nation-states will probably also be devised

🚀 A grassroots, innovative, global institutional building effort: this project will enable the people of this planet to join forces in designing the future of world governance, in designing their future. Historically, institution-building was an exercise reserved for a few elite (men).

🚀 An increase in global awareness and understanding of transnational governance:  the consultation will mobilize hundreds of thousands of people across the world to discuss this fundamental topic, bring about their knowledge and best practices, and listen to one another.

🚀 Laying the groundwork for a true global democratic governance capable of solving world issues, and consolidating it throughout the years

It may be important to run a voting program in parallel with ongoing elections to poll in advance and see how it correlates.

    Dear Sir or Madam,

We are a community based organization, Lotus Flower Community School in Zambia offering free education to vulnerable children. To fulfil our mission, we have struggled providing free uniforms, free shoes, food, free school bags, pay tuition fees and so forth to encourage our learners. Among the other causes involved in are advocating for women, community, clean energy and environmental and health rights as well as sex, family planning, HIV and AIDS, malaria programs and so on.

Additionally, we would like to request your organization to help us with school supplies, uniforms, clothes and shoes that would be used to be given and see especially orphans and vulnerable children getting into and remain in school. Besides, school children, a shoe is highly needed and important in serving and empowering other inopportune and needy people in communities like those battling with HIV and AIDS, the aged, the disabled and women.

    Thank you,
