LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM (September 6, 2021) – Atlas - the global, progressive, social, and political movement - is excited to invite you to their annual "Freedom Marathon" kick-off event, to begin on September 15, International Democracy Day

Atlas is proud this year to unite with prominent pro-democracy leaders from across the world at the Freedom Marathon opening day. The featured leaders include Juan Guaido, Interim President of Venezuela; Vladimir Ashurkov, Executive Director of Anti-corruption Foundation in Russia; Veronica Tsepkalo, Belarusian politician in exile; Ted Hui, Hong Kong pro-democracy politician in exile; and Wai Wai Nu, Myanmar/Burma human rights activist.

This four-day marathon event is well-structured, with insightful panel discussions and interactive workshops each day. Moderators will include well-known pro-democracy figures, leading activist groups, and Atlas members worldwide.

The closing event will be held on September 18 at the Tabernacle, Notting Hill. The Atlas team will wrap things up by presenting outcomes of the workshop discussions. In addition, they will introduce the Atlas democracy campaign’s next steps.

Atlas is honored to include in the final presentation esteemed speakers including Russian activist Vladimir Ashurkov, Hong Kong activist Finn Lau, Jacqueline San, spokesperson of Burma's opposition National Unity Government (NUG) campaign UK, and Rajat Khosla, Senior Director of Research, Advocacy and Policy from Amnesty International.
