✊ What?
Given Chinese territorial claims, particularly at the height of election cycles, Taiwan faces waves of disinformation from China. What are strategies that Taiwan has taken to adapt to this challenge? Can other countries learn from Taiwan regarding this?
One notes that combating disinformation involves treading a line between preserving freedoms of speech while also preventing the spread of deliberately erroneous information with a political end in mind. Taiwan faces this issue, as do other countries globally. This discussion will explore this question.
🧐 Why?
This event opens a series of consultations across the globe to crowdsource what a democratic system of global governance should look like. Let's together identify how Taiwan's model can be used in global governance & how to best counter authoritarianism.
So let's get started with this event!
