Virtual Town Hall | Could Tibet be the model for Hong Kong?

The Hong Kong legislative elections will take place on December 19th, 2021, in a climate that is anything but democratic: Hongkongers can no longer express their voice or votes inside the city and have no representation outside. This must change. Join us for a virtual town hall on how to ensure that Hong Kong's democracy lives on, looking at innovative models to do so. We will examine Tibet's government in exile as a way to represent people under authoritarian rule, and provide those in exile with basic services.

Speakers:

  • Tenzin Lekshay, Official Spokesperson of the Central Tibetan Administration
  • Frances Hui, Founder of We The Hongkongers
  • Dorjee Tseten, Member of Tibetan Parliament in Exile and Executive Director of Students for a Free Tibet
